All in for our City All In For Our Home Town

For more than 50 years, we’ve been proud to call Seattle home

From one store in Seattle’s Pike Place Market in 1971, to nearly 33,000 stores serving customers globally – for over 50 years, Starbucks has always been about so much more than great coffee. After all, our mission at Starbucks is to “nurture the limitless possibilities of human connection.”

We have a responsibility to strengthen our communities and know Starbucks impact in communities is most meaningful when our efforts begin with our partners (employees) who know their neighbors best. Nowhere is that truer than our hometown of Seattle – where we’ve worked side by side with our neighbors and partners (employees) since the beginning.

Upcoming Hometown Events

Seattle is a happening place, and we are proud to be a part of local events that bring our neighbors together to support our communities.

Hot Java Cool Jazz

This amazing jazz-filled event is part of Starbucks ongoing commitment to support local area high school music programs. Ticket sales go directly back to the high schools that perform in the show.
Starbucks 28th Annual Hot Java Cool Jazz will be on Friday, March 28, 2025 at 7 p.m. at the Paramount Theatre in downtown Seattle. Tickets will go on sale in late January 2025.

Up Next: Music from Rising Stars

Starbucks and Seattle Theatre group are proud to be long time partners. And because every young performer needs a stage to hone their skills, Starbucks is pleased to welcome STG aspiring musicians into their stores as part of the Up Next series .

Hometown Partnerships

We are committed to the resiliency of Seattle. We partner with like-minded organizations that help communities engage through social services, civic engagement and community service opportunities. We will forever be all in for our hometown

Seattle Theatre Group (STG)

Through a longtime partnership with STG, Starbucks helps to create opportunities for young people to grow their artistic talents.

Seattle Reign FC

Starbucks is proud to support Seattle Reign FC as the presenting partner of their annual Pride match and Legends Campaign . The Legends Campaign celebrates extraordinary female leaders in the Pacific Northwest.

Seattle Mariners

Starbucks is proud to partner with our closest neighbors in SODO to create a more healthy and vibrant Hometown by addressing two core challenges – housing access and food security.

Seattle Kraken

Starbucks is proud to be a community impact partner of the Seattle Kraken. Together with the One Roof Foundation, we celebrate local community members through the Kraken Unity Fund . Through this program, together with the Kraken Ownership group, each season $1.2M is donated to local nonprofits benefiting our community.

Seattle Storm

This hometown partnership illustrates both organizations’ commitment to Seattle by focusing on two areas of significance: access to housing through a Rebounds for Housing program and community basketball clinics created for youth in underserved communities throughout the city.

Seattle Seahawks

Starbucks is proud to be a community partner with the Seattle Seahawks, supporting local non-profits through their Spirit of 12 program. We’ve invited our customers – and fellow 12s – to show their Blue Pride along with us. Go, Hawks!

Seattle Sounders FC

Starbucks and Seattle  Sounders FC  have teamed up to support the annual Pride Match and uplift the LGBTQIA+ community. Scarves up, Seattle!

University of Washington

From community service, to Husky Stadium, to finals week, Starbucks is honored to partner with the University of Washington. Go Dawgs!

Community Impact & Partnerships

We are honored to partner with nonprofit leaders in our hometown community who are committed to impacting some of the most pressing needs in Seattle. Through collaboration, programs and funding, together we can help create thriving neighborhoods for all. Here’s just a few of the partnerships we’re excited to highlight:

FareStart

Starbucks, The Starbucks Foundation and FareStart have worked together since 1996, helping advance FareStart’s mission to transform lives, disrupt poverty and nourish communities through food, life skills and job training.

Plymouth Housing

Plymouth Housing’s mission is to eliminate homelessness and address its causes by preserving, developing and operating safe, quality, supportive housing and by providing adults experiencing homelessness with opportunities to stabilize and improve their lives.

Mary’s Place

Mary’s Place provides safe, inclusive shelter and services that support women, children and families on their journey out of homelessness. Across nine emergency family shelters in Seattle and King County, they keep struggling families together, inside, and safe when they have no place else to go providing shelter, services, resources, community and hope.

Wellspring Family Services

Wellspring Family Services is a nonprofit, multi-service agency serving low-income and vulnerable individuals, children and families in Seattle and King County. For more than 125 years, Wellspring has been a source of opportunity for children and families to win their resilience, triumph over trauma, and reach their full potential.

Our partnership has primarily focused on supporting barista and customer service training programs designed to empower youth experiencing homelessness with life skills, job readiness, training, and employment support for jobs in the food service industry. We’ve also provided equipment and furniture for FareStart cafes and training locations, and donated a mobile truck to help expand access to fresh, healthy food to communities who are underserved as part of FareStart’s outreach program.

Starbucks and Plymouth Housing have come together to increase access to permanent supportive housing, expand behavioral health services and support front-line staff who are critical to advancing Plymouth’s vision of a future where every person has a home and a better quality of life.
