International Hunger Relief Efforts 

Starbucks supports hunger relief efforts around the world through a variety of initiatives including The Starbucks Foundation’s Global Community Impact Grants, partner (employee) volunteering and disaster relief grants.  

Since the launch of the Global Community Impact Grants program in 2022, The Starbucks Foundation has awarded more than $10 million in grants to over 150 nonprofits across 60 markets to support hunger relief, among other priorities.  

Food donation and hunger relief programs are available in nine Starbucks markets in Asia Pacific, including in: 

• Thailand where from November 2023 to January 2024, Starbucks rescued 5,147 kg of food, resulting in 21,617 meals. 
• Vietnam where from August 2023 to February 2024, 3,305 pieces of pastry items were rescued from 10 pilot Starbucks stores. 
• Korea, where Starbucks co-invested in a pilot in 2023, resulting in 2,200 meals served to underserved youth through partner volunteering. 

In Latin America, Starbucks Mexico launched Donde Come Uno, Comen Dos, an initiative to reduce food waste and fight hunger and Starbucks Chile partnered with GoodMeal to roll out an app where customers can purchase food that would otherwise go to waste. 

When communities around the world need help in the aftermath of disasters, The Starbucks Foundation works with nonprofit partners to deliver critical hunger relief support, including World Central Kitchen’s efforts to provide food aid in Gaza.
